Research supports that homeowners typically update or renovate their homes every 3 to 5 years. According to Gallery KBNY, "the average homeowner renovates every 3 to 5 years, with larger renovations occurring slightly less frequently." The 2024 U.S. Houzz & Home Study also found that homeowners undertake multiple interior and exterior upgrades within a decade.

These findings highlight the importance of regular updates—not just for homes, but for all buildings—to maintain safety, efficiency, and value. As the saying goes, "A building is only as strong as its upkeep."
